First Saturday MORCA Ride
To promote Public Health MORCA is suspending group rides, trail work and face-to-face group meetings during the Covid-19 pandemic. We all must do the sensible things necessary to limit the spread of the virus. When more is known about the course of the virus and its impact on our society we will be in a better position to forecast dates when normal activities can resume.
We all love to ride our bikes, it’s a healthy practice for body and mind. If you do ride, remember to wash your hands or use a hand sanitizer. There are prescriptions for people to stay 6 feet apart. We hope you can continue to ride your bike and if you ride with a friend or friends, please practice handwashing and sanitizing as well as safe distancing.
You are invited to go Riding with MORCA!
We’ll break into beginner, intermediate and advanced groups as appropriate. No one is left behind!
When: The first Saturday of every month at 9:30am. The ride will start at 9:45.
Meet at the parking area (paved area) near the intersection of 8th Ave and Gigling Rd approximately 15 minutes before start time.
There is no cost but you should bring your bike, helmet (required), water, sunscreen, a snack and be ready to ride.
The first Saturday MORCA ride is organized to introduce mountain bike riders to the trails of Ft. Ord and enjoy a social ride for regulars.
Rides will be approximately 2 hours and No Drop (no one will be left behind) and will be led and swept by an experienced member of MORCA.
Bring a food or beverage to share and we’ll tailgate after in the parking lot.
Rain in the previous 24 hours may cancel. Be sure to check the MORCA Facebook Group and website for weather status updates.
The Waiver from the MORCA website must be signed, dated and given to the ride leader before the start of the ride.
