The Course Marshal for the dual slalom is positioned along the Dual Slalom course and helps provide for the safety of the riders and spectators by controlling access to the course and communicating to other riders, event and medical personnel when riders are down.
MORCA is asking for volunteers to commit to at least one session of support for the Sea Otter Dual Slalom. You may, of course, sign up for as many sessions as you wish. Each day will consist of two marshal sessions. Essentially morning and afternoon. There will be seven spots available for each session. If you wish to volunteer for the entire day just sign up for both sessions that day. See the schedule in the sign up section below for the available volunteer sessions each day.
A typical day will consist of two, two to three hour blocks of time with a lunch break in between. Please see the schedule in the sign up section below for the volunteer hours each day.
Please bear in mind you will need to plan on being at the dual slalom course 30 minutes before the scheduled event start time.
In addition Volunteers need to check in no later than 1 hour prior to their shift at the volunteer sign up tent next to the Hospitality Building. Directions will be provided. Look for signs!!
NOTE: Dual Slalom volunteers will get a four day festival pass and a volunteer t-shirt plus a bag lunch each day they work.
This year Volunteers will need to print and sign two waivers. One for SOC and one for UCI Cycling. Give the completed waivers to the Volunteer Coordinator when you check in.
