Marina Pump Track Grand Opening

Nearly six years in the making, the pump track concept which MORCA Trail Crew Leader and member at large, Darius Rike, first proposed to the City of Marina city council back in 2015 has finally become a reality.

On May 13, a huge crowd of all ages descended upon the City of Marina for the Grand Opening of the Glorya Jean Tate Park Pump Track. Bicyclists, scooter riders, and even some skateboarders showed up to experience the nearly 30,000 square feet of curves, berms, rollers and jumps which make up the asphalt track.

Funded primarily by the City of Marina and in part through grants, the pump track represents both a regional draw and a local, community outdoor recreation resource that will be here for many years to come. As participation in cycling continues to grow, according to the Outdoor Industry Association 2023 Outdoor Participation Trends Report, this community recreation hub has the potential to provide economic, social, and health benefits for our community.
