On Saturday August 17th seven MORCA members left their bikes at home and hit the trails of Fort Ord National Monument on foot.
There are no trail fairies but there are hard working volunteers and this time it was: Gary Courtright, Brian Tomasini, Mark Kaplar, Bill Kaelin, George Fontes, Suzanne Pelkey and Joel Trice.
What is really cool is that MOST of the folks that showed up have been riding for less than a year. Awesome to see new folks out there giving back to the trails! Suzanne just started riding a little over a month ago!
The same day six other MORCA members and one daughter were up working in the Sierra on Hole in the Ground trail rebuilding a turn and moving big rock.
Thanks to Darrin, Ken, Phil, Henrietta, Sue and her daughter Sarah for helping with the heavy rocks. This was a group work day with members from over 6 clubs helping to make Hole in the Ground a better trail.
We are over 300 hours of trail work so far for the year.
