Next planned trail work day (In conjunction with National Public Lands Day!!!)

When: 9 AM to 11:30 PM on Saturday, October 28th, 2023. (followed by catered lunch)
What: Bridge finishing work. We’ll be finishing the approaches (doing tread work) on the newly installed bridge across the bottom of trail 47 (Couch Canyon).
Where: Meet at the Badger Hills trailhead where we’ll get signed in and ready to roll. We’ll drive into the trail work area from there. Arrive early so we can get started at 9 AM.
Volunteer Positions: Trail Crew Leaders will supervise a group of four to five volunteers and should have training and experience in trail building. Trail Crew Volunteers will use hand tools to complete trail work.
NOTE: Following the volunteer work projects that are from 9:00-11:30 A.M., you will be treated to a catered lunch in the center of the Fort Ord National Monument at the Lightfighter LZ.

Long pants and eye protection suggested. Close toe shoes required.
The Waiver from the MORCA website must be signed, dated and given to the trail crew leader before the start of trail work. If under 18 you must have your waiver signed by an adult and should come with a parent or guardian.
NOTE: For work on County trails in the former Fort Ord if you have not previously completed the “Military Munitions Recognition and Safety Training” please follow this link http://fortordsafety.com/ and complete the on line course (less than 20 minutes) before attending the trail work day.
